  1. For those initially hospitalized with a primary diagnosis of infectious diseases
  2. the rate of VTE-related hospital readmission: 2.0%
  3. For those initially hospitalized for respiratory diseases: 1.6%
  4. Cancer had the highest rate: 3.9%
  5. of which 51.3% were for a primary diagnosis of VTE
  6. For those initially hospitalized for heart failure: 1.9%
  7. For those initially hospitalized for ischemic stroke: 1.4%
  8. For those initially hospitalized for rheumatic diseases: 1.7%
